Fair Trade Palo Santo
Woodburned with wrapped crystal end
Palo Santo, also known as Holy Wood, from the sacred tree bursera graveolens, is a ceremonial tool of the Inca civilization and other Indigenous peoples of the Andes and South America. It continues to be used throughout transcultural traditions for smudging and spiritual cleansing.
In addition to its spiritual qualities, when burned, the terpenes and compounds of the wood activate anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties, helping the body fight free radicals, increase healthy blood circulation, relieve pain, and induce physical relaxation and meditative states of calm.
We source our Palo Santo from fair trade, ethical, and sustainable wholesalers who have worked directly with the same family in Ecuador for over 11 years, only purchasing raw wood from independent local collectors who harvest naturally dead trees that have been sitting on the forest floor for over 4 years. Our wholesalers worked directly with the Ecuador Ministry of Environment, Water, Forestry, and Conservation on reforestation projects, restoring over 100,000 trees into the dry tropical forest for the last 20 years.
Our Palo Santo is available in raw cut sticks, or woodburned with a word of intention and a wrapped crystal attached.
